Body-Solid GPR400 Power Rack with Functional Trainer Package

We wanted a commercial grade rack. We wanted cables. We needed it to fit in a basement with 81" ceilings. This checks all of those boxes. Max height with the cable add on is like... 81" and a little change. Shipping went great, took about 7 days, came on a double wide pallet with 950 lbs of stuff in boxes. After unpacking, found one piece had a bent bracket, probably from shipping, Select Fitness was able to get it sorted out and get a replacement piece to me next day. 5/5 service, could not have asked for more.

Assembly: I did it solo over 6 hours. You're gonna want to make sure you have a big enough socket/ratchet wrench for the M16 bolts (24mm). The only thing I'd deduct stars for is assembly instructions, not because they aren't clear, but because you're ordering one SKU here, but you're getting 2 SKUs so there are two instruction manuals and its not like you're going to assemble the rack and then go "let me undo a bunch of this work!" Not that big of a deal. That 6 hours was mostly leisurely effort on my part. With 2 hands and 2 sets of tools, it'd for sure be quicker. The height factor for me also made it tough because certain pieces needed to go on in a certain order noat necessarily prescribed by the instructions. Overall, not actually hard if you have ever played with legos.

Quality: outstanding. Exactly as advertised. Immensely sturdy, tolerances are tight, honestly this rack/cable combo feels like a bit of steal compared to competitors. Excellent buy, especially if your space is height limited.

I bought this rack and system about a month ago. It took about a week to arrive which is pretty great considering how big and logistically difficult the order/product is.

I put it together myself, so it is the possible. However having a second set of hands would have been nice.

Once this bad boy was put together I’ve been wearing it out. I don’t have it bolted to the floor but there is no wobble when racking weights. The pulleys are very smooth. I was a little worried about that based on a lot of videos that I watched saying how aluminum pulleys are superior. I can’t imagine how they could be. The pulleys on this are great.

I have used it all but two days since I’ve had it. No complaints at all.

Great option for low ceiling spaces.

I have had this setup in use for a 6 on, 1 off, split for over a month now and this has really opened up a lot more potential for workouts in my program. This machine is solid as the name implies. The seperate rower and lat pulldown are a great addition. The profile of the machine works for me as I'm only 5' 8", if you are over 6' though some of the utility might be lost or you will have to go without a bench and sit on the floor for the pull downs if you want max stretch. The only other complaint i would have is that the center logo on the machine is horribly low and I had to condition myself to keep my head down when changing the weight stack as it sits at roughly 5' 7" so if you arent paying attention to that you will definately hit you head a few times. Could probably just be solved by adding a foam pad but it was easier for me to just remember to keep my head down till I clear the rack. Otherwise, I sincerly enjoy this machine and have zero regrets on this purchase. Well below other similar machines in price that are of equal qaulity and they give you enough attachments to hit the ground running. Also, it has a lifetime warranty on all parts for home use which is pretty amazing. Everything is very thick guage steel and the bolts are massive. Just make sure you have wrenches that go pretty high in metric and a long handles ratchet tp get better leverage as you will be cranking on the nylon threaded nuts for quite a while. Assembly was pretty straightforward. Put it together myself but would definately reccomend getting someone to assist you as you will have to get pretty creative otherwise with some parts assembly. As far as ordering this was my first time ordering from select fitness and I have to say hands down one of the better companies I have ever dealt with. Since this item comes by truck freight i had to ensure that i was going to be available for delivery and they walked me through the process and answered any and all questions I had almost as soon as I had asked them. Would definatley order from them again in the future for any of my fitness equipment needs.
